Brief Biographical Sketch:
Hi everyone! I'm a prospective MIT Class of 2020er who hails from the cold and relatively little state of Minnesota. I've loved teaching for quite a while; in fact, I used to be a tutor in Math, Chemistry, Biology, English, Vietnamese, and even Spanish (though to be honest, I need to brush up on my Spanish...a lot). I truly, truly value feedback, so if I'm ever being stupid, please feel free to yell at me! *Fun Facts* Past Classes(Clicking a class title will bring you to the course's section of the corresponding course catalog)S10724: Introduction to Organic Chemistry in Splash 2016 (Nov. 19 - 20, 2016)
Ever wondered how chemistry can be...organic? Does the USDA go around auditing colleges' chemistry departments?
In this class, you will learn many basic concepts of organic chemistry. Fear not: this is no rudimentary class devoted to naming molecules and compounds. We will go much further than nomenclature, discussing "real" organic chemistry: stereochemistry, reactions, mechanisms, syntheses, and whatever else we may have time for.
